About the Conference

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to inform you that the ISA RC04 midterm conference entitled Education and AI will be held in Belgrade, on September 24-26, 2026. The conference will be held on site.

The organizer is ISA RC04 Sociology of Education, while the local organizer will be the University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Education – the Centre for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence in Education (CRAIE), UNESCO International Institute for Online Education, Serbia National Centre, in cooperation with the Serbian Sociological Association, the Serbian Academy of Education and the Institute of Political Studies, Belgrade.

The chosen topic represents one of the most important issues of social change in the field of education. Many even argue that the world with the mass use of artificial intelligence will not look the same again, and that it will occur in a relatively short period of time. For its part, the use of artificial intelligence in education leads to numerous, almost revolutionary changes in this sphere of society, which must also be viewed from a sociological point of view.

We welcome the papers – both theoretical and empirical – that deal with the research on the application, and potential or already present consequences of using artificial intelligence in education.

Expected participants of the conference include researchers, university teachers and associates and PhD students who sociologically research education, as well as all others who deal with contemporary changes in education and artificial intelligence from an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary aspect.
